2010 Mid-year Appeal
Eight years ago the signatories to the Convention on Biodiversity (including Australia) made a bold and ambitious commitment to reduce the current rate of biodiversity loss by 2010. Yet in this the International Year of Biodiversity the rate at which we are losing species shows no sign of slowing down.
Birds Australia is one of the few major environmental organisations specifically committed to the conservation of threatened species. Working with a vast network of volunteers, community groups and environmental agencies, Birds Australia is invloved in practical, on-ground conservation works that benefit threatened birds and the habitats that they rely on.
In order to continue our commitment to threatened species, Birds Australia needs your financial support. We need your help to ensure we can meet the challenges to our biodiversity head on. Click here to read more or donate immediately online.

Wildbird Fund - Monthly Donor Program
A better way to help our birds One of the most effective ways to support Birds Australia is to become a monthly donor to Wildbird Fund. Regular donations allow us to plan ahead, budget, act with more certainty and be more efficient. Donating monthly through Wildbird Fund reduces our administrative costs, ensuring more of your donation is directed to conservation. To become a Wildbird Fund donor, you can authorise Birds Australia to either:
- charge a nominated amount to your credit card each month, OR
- direct debit a nominated amount from your bank account each month
Contributions to Wildbird Fund are tax-deductible and can be altered or cancelled at any time, with a phone call, or by writing to us. A consolidated tax-deductible receipt will be forwarded at the end of each financial year. Wildbird Fund donors are kept informed of Birds Australia's achievements through our regular email newsletter, e-News, and also our annual State of Australia's Birds report. By becoming a Wildbird Fund donor you are showing your commitment to nature conservation through birds.
